Inside an AI Doctor Clinic: How AI and Real Doctors Share a 10-Minute Visit
The AI does the groundwork. A qualified doctor still makes every medical decision. Here is the visit, minute by minute.

An AI doctor clinic is a point of care where artificial intelligence handles the time-consuming groundwork, measuring, analysing and organising, so a qualified doctor can focus on what only a doctor can do: judgement, diagnosis and care.
The phrase can sound like a robot replacing your physician. It isn't. In a well-designed AI doctor clinic, the AI works for the doctor and the patient, and a human doctor stays in charge of medical decisions. We have also written about AI-powered doctor clinics and what an AI medical clinic is.
Here is what a visit looks like, minute by minute.
Minutes 0-2: Check-in by voice
Meet Sunita, 48, a shopkeeper who hasn't seen a doctor in three years. She walks up to a Clinics On Cloud Health ATM at her local pharmacy. (Sunita is an illustrative example.)
There's no form to fill. A voice assistant greets her in Marathi, registers her and asks about her medical and family history: her father had diabetes, she sometimes feels tired and breathless. The system is built for first-time and rural users, so she doesn't need to read or type much.
Minutes 2-7: Screening with connected devices
Guided step by step, Sunita checks her blood pressure, SpO₂, temperature, weight and ECG, and gives a finger-prick sample for HbA1c and haemoglobin. The platform runs a 65+ parameter checkup across 14 specialities.
Minutes 7-8: The AI intelligence layer
As readings come in, the AI layer:
- Analyses her ECG, heart sounds and vitals instantly
- Combines results with her history for context
- Generates a health score and flags risk indicators
In Sunita's case, it flags an elevated HbA1c and low haemoglobin. It doesn't diagnose her. It prepares the case.
Minutes 8-10: A real doctor, fully briefed
A doctor joins by video. Instead of starting from zero, the doctor sees Sunita's complete context within about 15 seconds: readings, history, trends and AI-highlighted risks.
The doctor asks a few questions, explains what the numbers mean and recommends a confirmatory test and a follow-up. The AI drafts a prescription based on the doctor's decisions, and the doctor reviews and edits it by voice before approving it. The e-prescription and a plain-language Smart Report arrive on Sunita's WhatsApp before she leaves.
What the AI does and what the doctor does
| Task | AI | Doctor |
|---|---|---|
| Collecting history | Guides the conversation by voice | Reviews and asks follow-ups |
| Analysing readings | Instant analysis, risk scores | Interprets in context |
| Diagnosis | Highlights risks only | Makes the diagnosis |
| Prescription | Drafts suggestions | Decides, edits and approves |
| Explaining results | Plain-language report, diet plan | Answers questions, builds trust |
Why this model works
- For patients: no appointment, no lab visit, answers in minutes.
- For doctors: less paperwork, faster consultations, more patients helped per day.
- For health systems: one doctor can support many clinics remotely, stretching scarce medical staff further.
Across our network, more than 12 million people have been screened and over 200,000 abnormalities detected early, many in people like Sunita who had no symptoms.
Is an AI doctor clinic safe?
Safety comes from regulation, data protection and human oversight. Clinics On Cloud is a CDSCO-licensed medical device manufacturer with ISO 13485 certification, handles data to ISO 27001 and HIPAA standards, and keeps a qualified doctor in the loop for every consultation. The full care stack sets out how the layers fit together.
